LLS SVOTY 2023

Arielle Zappia winning the Research Mission Pillar Award in the 2023 Student Visionaries of the Year Competition hosted by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

My partner and I happily accepting our Research Mission Pillar Award with our Campaign Advisor.

I led Team Courage for Cancer in the 2023 Student Visionaries of the Year Competition hosted by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I worked to raise money and help fund therapies and treatments that have saved and continue to save lives. Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers.

By the end of the competition, I led my team in raising $65,219.49. I did this by securing online donations, receiving a corporate sponsorship, and spending hours sending out texts & emails to get the word out. This brought me to become the Student Visionary of the Year Runner-Up, be inducted into the Candidate Hall of Fame, as well as earn both the Mission Pillar Award & the Hero Award.

LLS SOTY 2022

I was a member of Team Light the Night in the 2022 Students of the Year Competition hosted by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I was tasked with raising as much money as possible in a 7-week period. My personal goal for the 2022 campaign period was $5,000 and I ended up reaching, as well as surpassing that goal, and raised $6,002 for LLS.
